Rail station Hairatan Afghanistan.

The main railway station in Afghanistan is Hairatan station. This station has the good established infrastructure and the good work of customs and railway services.

Rail wagons and containers can arrive to Hairatan and Mazar-e-Sharif rail station without to be reloaded and without the change of axles in the border, it is because of the same wide track in Afghanistan like in CIS countries (1520 mm). Then the cargo / container are loaded on trucks and delivered deep into Afghanistan.

 It should be noted that the Afghan branch Galaba – Hairatan – Mazar-e-Sharif is served by Uzbekistan Railways.

Hairatan station has the following facilities:

  • Container Terminal, which allows to operate the high-capacity containers (20 ‘and 40’)
  • warehouses for storage of dry bulk, food, building materials
  • open warehouses for storage of goods which are not afraid of bad weather conditions
  • terminal for oil products.
